Using a shaft

Gears that are in side view can be connected by a shaft.

To create a shaft between gears:

1. Hold the cursor over one of the gears. You will see that two square connection pads appear: one on each side of the gear.
2. Click on the pad from which you want the shaft to extend.
3. Move the cursor away from the gear until the shaft is long enough.
4. Click again to end the shaft.
5. Drag the second gear and connect it to the free end of the shaft.

Tips for use:

• Shafts cannot be placed at angles.
• Deleting a gear attached to a shaft will also delete the shaft.
